WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY—Senator Sue Serino (R, C, I, R—Hyde Park) announced today that she has secured the endorsement of 1199SEIU Healthcare Workers East.
“Sue Serino, who is the chair of the Senate Aging Committee, shares our interest in improving healthcare services for the frail and elderly living in skilled nursing facilities or receiving care in their homes. She also has listened closely to many 1199 members in her district and understands what healthcare workers need in order to provide the best care possible,” said Helen Schaub, 1199SEIU Director of Public Policy and Legislation.
“Our endorsement is based on Senator Serino’s ongoing commitment to quality health care and good jobs in the Hudson Valley. We look forward to our continued work with her to ensure that the voices of healthcare workers and all working families are heard in the New York State Senate.”
The largest healthcare union in the nation, 1199 SEIU Healthcare Workers East works tirelessly to fulfill their mission of providing quality healthcare, great jobs and social justice for all. Their nearly 400,000 members include frontline healthcare workers employed by hospitals, nursing homes, homecare agencies, clinics, pharmacies and various other healthcare industries.
“Our healthcare workers are on the front lines when it comes to patient safety and quality of care,” said Senator Serino. “To say 1199 members are passionate about their jobs and their patients would be an absolute understatement. I am honored to have the support of an organization that puts people first and sets the standard for quality healthcare here in our community and beyond. I will continue to work alongside 1199SEIU as they pursue their mission and work to improve life here in our communities.”
