SMALL BUSINESS BACKS SERINO

nfib.pngWAPPINGER, NY—Senator Sue Serino, a small business owner running for re-election in the 41st Senate District, announced today that she is one of the few incumbents to receive the prestigious endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

“As a small business owner, Senator Serino not only understands the complex issues small employers face, but is committed to fixing them. We are proud to extend our endorsement to Sue Serino in this race and she is the only candidate for small business in this race,” said NFIB/NY State Director Mike Durant.

Serino was one of only twelve State Senate candidates to be endorsed by the organization, which considered NFIB member input, candidate questionnaires and 2015-16 NFIB/NY Voting Record. The organization is the nation’s leading small business organization, representing over 325,000 entrepreneurs.

“Small business owners all across New York are experiencing a vastly different entrepreneurial experience than the narrative some in Albany continue to describe,” Durant said in a press announcement. “We will aggressively support these candidates that we feel best represent our members and hope to continue our work together to change the policy discussion into a positive reality for New York’s small business owners.”

“I have experienced the frustration of doing business in New York first-hand,” said Senator Serino. “Feeling the weight of over-taxation and trying to cut through the outrageous amount of red tape is what propelled me into public service in the first place and I have been standing up for taxpayers and small business owners ever since. Our small businesses—our job creators—are the lifeblood of our state and I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that their voice is heard loud and clear in Albany. I am tremendously honored to have the support of NFIB and I look forward to partnering with them to ensure that New York’s small businesses have the tools they need to thrive.”
