New York State Independence Party Chairman Frank MacKay and Dutchess County Independence Party Chairman Dennis Zack today announced that the Independence Party has shifted its endorsement in the 41st State Senate District to Dutchess County Legislator Sue Serino.
“With Sue Serino’s entry into the race for the State Senate, we felt that this endorsement was both appropriate and justified. Sue is a strong candidate who time and again has demonstrated that she is an independent voice for taxpayers,” Zack said.
“I am proud to support Sue Serino’s candidacy for the Senate and will stand by her side as she makes her case to the families of the 41st Senate District. The New York State Independence Party believes very strongly that Sue is the best candidate for this seat and that she will be a tremendous State Senator who will stand up and fight for the people she represents,” New York State Independence Party Chairman Frank MacKay said.
“I am honored to have been given the opportunity to run on the Independence line. I pledge to bring my independent voice to our State Capitol,” said Serino. “As a local elected official, I have stood up to leaders in both political parties to fight for fiscal responsibility and accountability in government. In the State Senate, I will continue working to protect taxpayers in Dutchess and Putnam counties and fight for middle-class families.”
The 41st Senate District is comprised of parts of Dutchess and Putnam counties.
