BEACON, NY—Senator Sue Serino today announced that the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) has officially endorsed her campaign for re-election. Serino is running for re-election in the 41st Senate District, which includes most of Dutchess and parts of Putnam counties.
Representing approximately 300,000 active and retired public and private sector employees throughout New York, the union is a driving force in protecting the rights of workers and their families throughout the state and is known for endorsing a bi-partisan slate of candidates. Serino’s Senate District resides in CSEA’s Southern Region 3 which covers seven Hudson Valley counties representing workers in state and local government, school districts, libraries, public authorities and the private sector. The region is home to approximately 37,000 members.
“We have had a terrific relationship with Senator Serino since her election in 2014, and over the years this has been bolstered by trust, respect and the genuine admiration she has for our members and the jobs they perform,” said Anthony Adamo, CSEA Southern Region President. “Throughout this past year, Sue has stood with us and worked diligently to ensure that family members of front line responders to the COVID-19 pandemic are taken care of, should their loved one tragically pass away due to their job. Even while she’s had her own struggles, her thoughts have never drifted far from the men and women who have kept our communities functioning.”
In accepting the endorsement, Senator Sue Serino, said, “CSEA members have always gone above and beyond to make our community run, but throughout the pandemic, the union’s hardworking members continued to step up time and again. That’s why I am especially proud to have earned their support in this year’s election. CSEA has always been an invaluable partner in fighting for policies that protect our local workforce and strengthen the Hudson Valley economy and with their support, I know we have what it takes not only to win on Election Day, but to successfully rebuild our community, and our state.”
The CSEA’s Southern Region is headquartered in Beacon.
