WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY—NYS Senator Sue Serino today announced that her campaign has officially been endorsed by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), an organization that represents over 400,000 members from six different affiliates across the state.

In a letter announcing the endorsement, AFSCME New York Political and Legislative Director Brian McDonnell said, “AFSCME represents workers in every city, town, village and school district in New York State, as well as people who care for the sick and the elderly in public hospitals and nursing homes. Our members care for the mentally ill, the disabled and the infirm. Our law enforcement members maintain public safety and security. The AFSCME membership keeps our state running every day. New York works because our members do. We wish you the best of luck in your campaign and look forward to working with you to improve the lives of New Yorkers now and in the future.”

Senator Sue Serino thanked AFSCME for their endorsement by saying, “I am grateful for the support of an organization that represents such a diverse group of workers who dedicate their lives to making our country, and our state work. Together, we can ensure that working families here in our community and across the state can access the opportunities and resources they need to thrive. I thank them for their support of my campaign for re-election and I look forward to partnering with them to continue moving our community forward.”
