The Dutchess County Republican Party at its convention at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel tonight announced its endorsement of Sue Serino for the 41st New York State Senate District.
“I am truly honored to be the officially endorsed Republican candidate for the New York State Senate 41st District seat,” said Serino. “I promise to always work to uphold the trust bestowed upon me, not only by this committee, but by everyone I’m fortunate enough to represent.”
“I’m running for State Senate because I care deeply about our community and its future. In recent years, we have seen a state government that does not act in our best interests or seem to take our concerns to heart,” said Serino. “When government stops working for us, we can’t just throw in the towel and allow our state representatives to destroy what we have built. We need real leaders who are willing to go to Albany and stand up for the values of everyone who lives here. I believe I can represent the values of Hudson Valley families better than any of the other candidates for this office, including Mr. Gipson.”
“Sue Serino is the right candidate and our absolute best choice to elect a Republican Senator who will restore common sense principles in Albany that will assist all of the people in Dutchess County,” said Dutchess County Republican Party Chairman Mike McCormack. “She has always stood up for local taxpayers and has used her experience and knowledge to make sure government makes smart, sensible choices when it comes to spending our hard-earned tax dollars.”
East Fishkill Republican Party Chairman Bob Horton said, "The East Fishkill Republican Committee was proud to be the first town committee to endorse Sue Serino for State Senate. Sue is the conservative Republican voice we need representing us in Albany. Sue is the honest, straight talking candidate who has proven her independence and tenacity during her tenure on the Dutchess County Legislature and Hyde Park town board. We encourage all voters in East Fishkill and across the 41st Senate District to support Sue. We look forward to circulating her ballot petitions and working towards victory in November."
"We need a strong leader with our interests in mind in Albany, and Sue Serino will ensure that what matters most to Hudson Valley residents, such as lowering property taxes, job creation and education, will continue to be a priority in the State Senate. The party has taken a big step in nominating a women who can stand her ground, fight for what she knows is right and is no ones puppet. I look forward to partnering with Sue as we work to improve the economy and quality of life here in Dutchess and Putnam Counties," said Barbara Gutzler, Supervisor Town of Wappinger.
Sue Serino is the owner of a small real estate brokerage company, Century 21 Serino Realty in Hyde Park, and employs more than 25 people. As a small-business owner she has dealt with the harsh realities of doing business in New York.
“As a small-business owner, I’ve seen how unnecessary government regulations and excessive taxes weigh down small businesses in New York and often kill jobs,” Serino said. “And as a realtor, I’ve also witnessed high taxes force seniors to leave their homes and families move out of our state.
“When the real estate business was hit hard by the economic downturn, we survived by learning to do more with less. That’s the lesson Albany politicians will hear from me,” Serino concluded.
