WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY—The campaign to re-elect Senator Sue Serino announced today that she was one of only eight State Senators to be endorsed by the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY).
MSSNYPAC Chair Dr. Joseph Sellers stated: “MSSNYPAC is proud to endorse Senator Sue Serino for re-election. Senator Serino is the chief sponsor of important legislation (S.5022) that would protect continuity of care for patients by prohibiting health insurers from adjusting their prescription medication formularies during a policy year. She has also supported important patient protection measures that passed the NYS Senate, and supported by the physician community, to require health insurers to report data to demonstrate their compliance with the mental health insurance coverage parity laws (S.1156), to create a comprehensive drug take back program (S.9100); and to increase penalties for assaults on physicians delivering care to patients (S.8055).”
In accepting the endorsement, Senator Sue Serino said,“As both the Chair of the Senate’s Task Force on Lyme and tick-borne diseases, and the Aging Committee, I have worked closely alongside MSSNY to fight for quality care for patients across New York State. MSSNY members fight tirelessly for their patients each and every day, and I am incredibly honored to have their endorsement.”
The highly regarded, MSSNY represents 30,000 licensed physicians, medical residents, and medical students across the state who work together to ensure high quality healthcare by effectively advocating for health-related rights, responsibilities and issues.
