POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Sue Serino joined the Dutchess County Republican Committee at their convention this evening where she was unanimously endorsed as the candidate to run for Dutchess County Executive. Serino was nominated by Lydia Biskup, a member of the City of Poughkeepsie Republican Committee and seconded by Village of Fishkill Mayor Kathy Martin.
“After living in Dutchess County for the majority of my life and serving our community as your State Senator, I am honored to be running to be the next Dutchess County Executive,” said Sue Serino. “I know what a special place Dutchess County is, and we need a leader who will continue to put the residents first and come up with solutions that will ease the burden and make it easier to succeed here in Dutchess County. I look forward to building on the foundation set by Congressman Marc Molinaro and working with our neighbors to take actions that will further enhance our community.”
Dutchess County Republican Chairman Michael McCormack said, “Sue Serino was a strong and tireless representative during her time in the State Senate, and I know that as Dutchess County Executive, she will continue to fight for the residents of our community. Sue shows up and actively listens to the concerns of residents from every corner of our County, and because of that, she is the person most prepared to become our next County Executive.”
Lydia Biskup, a member of the City of Poughkeepsie Republican Committee said, “There are people that you trust from the start and those that earn it. Sue Serino falls into both categories. Sue has a proven track record of delivering results for our community, and as our next Dutchess County Executive, I know she will work tirelessly to serve our neighbors. She will serve with transparency, compassion, experience, and that is comforting.”
Village of Fishkill Mayor Kathy Martin said, “It was my honor to second the nomination for Sue Serino to become our next County Executive. As State Senator, Sue was always there for all of us, and I know that in this next role, she’ll continue to govern by listening and will always try to do what is right for our community. Sue truly gets what Dutchess County needs, and I am confident that under her leadership, our community will thrive.”
Sue Serino previously served four terms as the State Senator where she represented the majority of Dutchess County. Prior to that she represented the Town of Hyde Park in the Dutchess County Legislature and served on the Hyde Park Town Board.
